• Carries out assignments given by supervisor or shift leader
• Completes all paperwork, logs, and reports
• Assignments are completed according to established time frames and procedures
• All paperwork is accurately completed and turned in at the end of the shift
• Covers assigned area, monitoring surroundings, makes rounds on foot and in vehicles checking equipment, facility, lighting, windows, doors, locks, emergency equipment
• Assigned areas are covered in professional manner
• Students and staff are addressed respectfully
• Rounds conducted include checking all items; observing surroundings and completing reports/logs
• Assists Center staff and law enforcement in controlling disturbances
• Assures procedures are followed
• Completes Significant Incident Reports, helps gather information and works cooperatively to return Center to normal atmosphere
• Ensures that all areas of the Center have adequate staff coverage during each shift
• Delegate responsibility for staff coverage to CPOs
• Ensures that all policies and procedures are correctly followed by staff on duty
• Ensures that all documentation is completed during each shift
• Acts as a liaison between the CSO Supervisor and Center Protection staff, and on call manager, if applicable
• Communicates with Supervisor during shift and calls Supervisor and or on-call manager when any non-routine situations arise
• Uses radio communication to effectively and safely manager on Center security operations
• Briefs in and out at beginning and end of shift with incoming and outgoing Shift leader, and or Center Protection Supervisor, Dorm Manager and On-call Manager
• Ensures staff leaves all vehicles in a clean and safe manner
• Reports vehicle damage and/or maintenance issues to Supervisor
• Complies with Policy and Requirements Handbook, DOL guidelines, Contract Specifications, ResCare policies and practices and Center Standard Operating procedures

High School Diploma/GED, One to Three months of related experience or training
valid driver's license
Guard Card preferred
The employee frequently is required to stand, walk, sit, and reach with hands and arms
The employee is occasionally required to climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; and taste and smell. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds
